The Experience
The Upper House
Pacific Place is one of Hong Kong’s iconic addresses – it’s where the city goes to shop. Traditional and creative luxury brands, two department stores, many fine restaurants and a stadium-seating cinema make Pacific Place the perfect complement to The Upper House. The Upper House is a small intimate hotel full of surprise. A place where everyone is treated as an individual. Warm, friendly and informal, it’s more home than hotel.
With stylish design from renowned Hong Kong designer Andre Fu of AFSO, the hotel offers 117 rooms beginning at 730 sq. ft. – the largest in Hong Kong, all featuring scenic harbour or island views, including 21 suites and 2 penthouses. Because our rooms start on Level 38 and feature substantial windows, the view is always a welcome distraction. Guestroom features include spacious bathrooms with walk-in rain showers, luxury down bedding, Espresso machine and selection of teas, dual temperature wine fridge, complimentary snacks and refreshments, video on demand, 2.1 Dolby surround sound, 42″ LCD TV in the sitting room and bedroom and 23-26″ in the bathroom, iPod touch, dressing room, unlimited high-speed broadband access, wired or wireless, throughout the entire hotel, and more.
With its views of The Peak and historic Wanchai district, our warm and inviting lounge on Level 49 is open throughout the day and evening. A large centre piece fireplace is the focal point of this space, set below high ceilings and surrounded by soft hues of green tea and mineral blue. Drinks and light snacks are available here from mid morning, served amidst comfortable, intimate seating areas.
Following widespread acclaim in New York, we welcome Chef Gray Kunz as our partner in Cafe Gray Deluxe. Atop the hotel on Level 49, this vibrant dining room has dynamic panoramic views. Gray likes to enhance the guest experience by providing a full view of what he and his team are up to, hence a 14-metre-long open kitchen and equally long bar.
With a uniquely blended cocktail in hand, our seductive city bar and lounge is the perfect place to watch the sun disappear behind Hong Kong’s outlying islands. With versatile seating, The Bar offers a balance of semi-private and comfortable lounging areas. The 14-metre-long bar is one of the largest in Asia and makes its mark as a place to enjoy great food, perfectly mixed drinks and wines by the glass – long into the night.
A secret garden and secluded lawn offer a surprise on Level 6. It’s a natural city retreat for people to eat, drink and relax at any time of day. There are many spaces to enjoy. Tables with ivory lacquered umbrellas will shade you from the sun, or you can sink into one of our large bean bags, but we think the most popular treat will be spreading out on the lush grassy lawn (a true rarity in Hong Kong).
If you fancy letting off some steam, our gym is well equipped with cardiovascular and weight training equipment from Precor and Keiser.
Elevate your contemporary Asian experience with a stay at The Upper House, a small luxury hotel set atop Hong Kong’s Pacific Place complex. Rise above the dizzying array of designer shops and entertainment venues to discover a relaxing, informal world where every whim is fulfilled. Starting on Floor 38 and featuring ample windows, the 117 airy and lavishly appointed guestrooms offer outstanding city and Victoria Harbour views. A unique iPod Touch application provides useful information on local attractions, and Chef Gray Kunz serves contemporary European classic cuisine at the popular Café Gray Deluxe.
