Built in the 19th-century, this luxurious palace is nestled on a hilltop overlooking the Tagus River and presents guests with the ideal base for an unforgettable stay in Lisbon.
Tucked away in the city’s diplomatic quarter, Lapa Palace is set in a beautiful sub-tropical garden. Sunbathe on a lounger in the pool area or pay a visit to the Spa, where you can treat yourself to hours of relaxation in the sauna.
Tradition and elegance
The Hotel is divided into three different sections, Palace Wing, Garden Wing and Villa Lapa with a total of 109 rooms. The rooms and suites of the new wing have been redecorated with Portuguese style fabrics and furniture and different the decoration on every floor.
The 21 rooms and the Suite Count of Valenças of the original Palace built in 1870 were all redecorated too in 2003, with Portuguese furniture made in the North of Portugal, in Paços de Ferreira, where excellent craftsmen have recreated the furniture in the styles D. João V, D. Maria I and D. José. Every room and suite in the Palace has a different style; you will find Art deco, Colonial, Algarvian and Neo-Classic styles. The Lapa Palace has styles for all tastes.
Indoor Swimming Pool
Our indoor pool offers a quiet setting with natural daylight and is heated at a temperature of 28º Celsius the full year. It is located in the Spa on the 3rd floor of the Garden Wing and is easily acessible by the rooms. A changing room is available, opening hours are from 8 am to 8 pm.
Sauna and Turkish Steam Bath
Our sauna is located by the indoor pool and is available from 8 am until 8 pm. Aromatic oils and natural essences are used in our sauna to enhance and revitalize your wellbeing. The Turkish bath is located in the changing rooms of our indoor pool and functions from 8 am to 8 pm. This is a unisex space. Revitalizing eucalyptus natural essences are used in our steam room.
Massages at Lapa Palace Spa
The ancient art of massage induces relaxation, promotes healing and helps restore and maintain optimal health. It uses a combination of techniques to improve blood and lymph circulation. From 10 am to 6 pm the Spa offers massages of the highest standard by trained massage therapists skilled at tailoring treatments to suit the individual client.
