Personally experience the wonders of Croatia, guided by local experts, as you discover Roman-influenced Split; the sunny island of Hvar; and Kotor, Montenegro and Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of the Adriatic.” Day 1: Arrive Split, Croatia/Podstrana
Arrive in Split after an overnight flight. You are met and driven to your resort hotel, nestled on the beach front in Podstrana. The balance of your day is at leisure to relax or enjoy the hotel,™s many amenities: beautiful landscaped gardens, casino, night club, tennis courts, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as a spa and wellness center.

Day 2: Split | The Palace of Diocletian
Join your guide to see the sights of lively Split, including the imposing Palace of Diocletian. Built in the third century on the shores of the Adriatic, this looming building with its cavernous interior is a unique remnant of the great days of the Roman Empire. The octagonal St. Dominus Cathedral stands next door. Stroll through Split,™s Old Town and the palm-lined harbor-front promenade. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Hvar | Wine Tasting and the Spanjol Fortress
Travel by ferry along the stunning Dalmatian coast to the picturesque island of Hvar. Arrive in Stari Grad, and stop in Vrboska, a 15th-century fishing village home to a tiny church adorned with the work of Venetian masters. Enjoy a tasting of Hvar,™s finest wines, and then join your local guide for a walking tour of Hvar Town,™s small historical center. Best known for its medieval buildings that are the legacy of four centuries of Venetian rule, it is also the site of the oldest municipal theater in Europe, which opened in 1612. View the gleaming white limestone walls of the medieval Spanjol Fortress, perched high on a hill overlooking the town. Continue to the Cathedral and the Arsenal. Afterward, return to your contemporary hotel, located on Hvar,™s beautiful waterfront, for an evening at leisure.

Day 4: Dubrovnik | Pearl of the Adriatic
Depart Hvar by public ferry to the mainland and then head south to Dubrovnik, nicknamed the Pearl of the Adriatic., As you travel along the coast, stop in the fishing town of Ston on the Peljesac Peninsula. Historic Ston has beautiful examples of medieval architecture and fortified walls, as well as numerous monuments. The town is also known for its oysters and salt works. You may wish to have lunch here in a typical Dalmatian restaurant, and sample the famous mollusks. On arrival in Dubrovnik, check in to your hotel, which overlooks the old city. The remainder of today is at leisure to begin your explorations of what is considered to be the most beautiful city in Croatia. Once a medieval center of maritime trade that rivaled Venice, Dubrovnik was heavily damaged by military conflicts in the early 1990s. Today, its old city has been restored to its former glory and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5: Dubrovnik/Cavtat/Dubrovnik | Tranquil Seaside Village
Walk through Dubrovnik with your local guide to see the Franciscan and Dominican monasteries, the Rector,™s Palace and Dubrovnik Cathedral. Ascend Mount Srd by cable car for stunning views of the area. Drive to the tranquil port town of Cavtat on the coast for lunch at leisure. Originally a Greek settlement, Cavtat is now a popular seaside destination filled with quaint shops and restaurants. Discover its many bays, beaches and lush vegetation. Return to Dubrovnik for an evening on your own in this romantic and inviting medieval city. Explore its winding cobbled streets and fountains, perhaps stopping to savor an unforgettable meal in one of its many fine restaurants.

Day 6: Kotor, Montenegro/Dubrovnik | Towers and Cathedrals
Enjoy a full day in Montenegro, visiting the old Venetian town of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounded by impressive medieval bulwarks. On a walking tour, visit the 12th-century Cathedral of St. Tripun and the charming Maritime Museum. Drive to the beautiful fjord of Kotor and take a boat to the tiny Church of our Lady of the Rocks, perched on a small island. Later, return to Dubrovnik.

Day 7: Depart Dubrovnik
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and depart.
